New Delhi: GOT7's Jinyoung enlists for his mandatory military service. For the next two years, the 27-year-old singer will say goodbye to the entertainment industry and his loyal fans.

Before leaving, Jinyoung caused quite a stir on social media by showing his buzz cut, a popular hairdo for those enlisting in the military. He later posted a touching letter on Instagram to his followers thanking them for their support and expressing his love for them.

"I promise to think of you all, stay healthy, experience many things, and come back as a better person," Jinyoung wrote.

Fans have been heartbroken by the news of Jinyoung's enlistment and have flooded social media with messages of comfort and best wishes.

All physically capable South Korean men between the ages of 18 and 28 are required to serve in the military, and Jinyoung's enrollment represents the most recent departure of a K-pop idol for military duty. Meanwhile, South Korean boy band GOT7 formed in 2014 and swiftly rose to prominence abroad owing to their popular tunes and powerful live shows.
