Geetika Mehandru Calls Shahid Kapoor's Jersey Her 'Dream Project'

Geetika Mehandru had previously worked alongside Shahid Kapoor in 'Kabir Singh'.

New Delhi: Actress Geetika Mehandru who is essaying the role of a journalist in ‘Jersey’ shared her excitement around the film’s release.

"The more excited you are for something, the more it gets delayed. This is exactly happening with me in 'Jersey'. It is my dream project. This project is something that is very close to my heart and is surely going to be a career changer for me,” she told IANS.

"With each passing day, I am getting butterflies in my stomach. But I have decided not to get very happy before the release. Once it gets released, me and my whole cast are surely going to have fun and party,” Geetika added.

Geetika is referring to Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Jersey’ which has again been postponed. Earlier slated to release on 31st December last year, the film, like other movies, was postponed due to the pandemic.

Now again, the makers have postponed its release in order to avoid clash with the mega-action film ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, the second installment of the super successful ‘KGF’ which released in 2018.

‘Jersey’ will now release on Apr 22, 2022. The film is a Hindi remake of the Telugu film with the same title, which featured actors Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the lead.

‘Jersey’ is a film about an aging cricketer returning to the game to fulfill his son’s wish of a jersey. The film will also feature Shahid Kapoor’s father and actor Pankaj Kapoor in a pivotal role. Geetika Mehandru had previously worked alongside Shahid Kapoor in 'Kabir Singh'.

Written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, and produced by Geetha Arts, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments and Brat Films, ‘Jersey’ is all set for a release on April 22, 2022.
