‘Couldn’t Feel Happy’: Sameera Reddy Recalls Her Postpartum Depression
Sameera said in her recent Instagram post that she struggled with Postpartum Depression (PPD) as a new mother following the birth of her first kid.
New Delhi: Sameera Reddy, a former Bollywood actor, has always been open and honest on social media. In her social media postings, the 43-year-old often advocates body acceptance and wellbeing. She has a long history of promoting mental health awareness, and her most recent Instagram post is no exception. She recently spoke out about the challenges of coping with postpartum depression.
Fans and netizens alike are moved by her openness and honesty in her post. Sameera said in her recent Instagram post that she struggled with Postpartum Depression (PPD) as a new mother following the birth of her first kid.
She included a collage consisting of two photographs in her post in which she discussed the significance of recognising the factors that have an effect on one's mental health.
Sameera wrote, "For me, postpartum stress was hard and I did not act fast enough because I was unaware it existed. The pics I have shared in this post was me at my lowest. I couldn’t feel happy, however hard I tried after the birth of my first child. I still reflect on these moments and it only drives me harder to reach out to anyone not feeling good about themselves. You are not alone. And, being there for each other in tough times is so important.”
She further elaborated on the list of ways to help individuals who suffer from the same condition.
She received a lot of encouragement from her followers. She was named "Best Mom" by Anita Hassanandani and "You’re an amazing mom" by Gauahar Khan with a love emoji, respectively.
Sameera Reddy married Akshai Varde in January 2014. In 2015, they became parents to their son Hans, and in 2019, they welcomed their daughter Nyra.
