Year-Ender 2025: Celebrities We Lost, Honouring The Icons Who Left Us

2025 has been a heartbreaking year as the world bid goodbye to some of the most respected and beloved actors, singers, filmmakers and cultural icons. Though they are gone, their work continues to inspire generations and remains etched in the history of Indian entertainment. Here is a heartfelt tribute to the stars we lost in 2025.

1. Dharmendra (1935–2025)

Fondly remembered as Bollywood’s “He-Man,” Dharmendra passed away on 24 November 2025 at the age of 89. His six-decade career gave Indian cinema some of its most memorable films and characters. Tributes poured in from across the nation, including top dignitaries.

2. AVM Saravanan (1939–2025)

The respected head of AVM Productions passed away on 4 December 2025 at age 86. He backed some of Tamil cinema’s most iconic films, shaping filmmaking styles across generations.

3. Zubeen Garg (1972–2025)

Legendary playback singer-composer Zubeen Garg died on 19 September 2025 in Singapore. His contribution to Assamese, Bengali, Hindi and other regional music made him one of India’s most versatile musicians.

4. Satish Shah (1952–2025)

Known for his unforgettable performances in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Hum Saath Saath Hain, and Main Hoon Na, Satish Shah passed away on 25 October 2025. His comedic brilliance made him a household name.

5. Govardhan Asrani (1941–2025)

Veteran actor Asrani, known for his iconic roles in comedies and notable Hindi films, died on 20 October 2025. His expressive acting and exceptional timing made him unforgettable.

6. Sulakshana Pandit (1954–2025)

Actress and playback singer Sulakshana Pandit passed away on 6 November 2025. She worked with Hindi cinema’s biggest stars and lent her voice to numerous regional films.

7. Pankaj Dheer (1956–2025)

Best remembered for his portrayal of Karna in the epic Mahabharat, Pankaj Dheer passed away on 15 October 2025. His role remains one of the most beloved interpretations in Indian television history.

 8. Piyush Pandey (1955–2025)

The creative giant of Indian advertising passed on 24 October 2025 at 70. His campaigns revolutionised the advertising world and shaped modern brand communication.

9. Manoj Kumar (1937–2025)

Known as “Bharat Kumar” for his patriotic films, Manoj Kumar died on 4 April 2025. His classics like Kranti and Roti Kapda Aur Makaan remain timeless masterpieces.

10. Rishabh Tandon

Popular singer, composer and writer Rishabh Tandon passed away from a major heart attack on 21 October 2025. His voice and soulful compositions will be remembered fondly.
