New Delhi: Vidya Balan's new film 'Neeyat' will soon be releasing in theatres. The actor who has begun promoting her ensemble film spoke about her husband and how she first met him. The 44-year-old also confessed to having a great carefree-40s experience and about never wanting to get married. Vidya confessed that meeting her partner and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur was actually 'lust at first sight'.

In an interaction with Ranveer Allahbadia in his podcast, Vidya revealed, "Actually, I’ve never wanted to be married, I have to be honest with you. I never saw myself as someone who could get married. I wanted to be with someone, but I never saw myself as getting married. But at a certain age, Parineeta happened when I was 26, and by 30 I’d seen a lot of success, and I wanted to share it with someone. I dated a few people but it didn’t quite work out. But I was feeling lonely. At the end of the day, you want to share your triumphs and disasters with someone outside of their family… I dated a few people, and it didn’t turn out well. It actually put me off, and I decided, you know what, forget it.”

She also considered herself very lucky to have Siddharth in her life. About meeting him for the very first time, she said in the same podcast, "it was lust at first sight' like it usually is. Later, on a serious note, she added that he is the most secure man she has met. She also added that he is "very private, but also very authentic’, and revealed that it was Siddharth who ‘made the first move". She also added that earlier, "I was also playing to the gallery when I said things about him, I wanted to sensationalise things…”

Vidya also admitted being cheated on and feeling even more 'worthless' but called it an important experience because it separates the 'wheat' from the 'chaff'. She also added that she does not mean to disparage her past partners, but after being disappointed, she decided to not look for anything serious.

Vidya and Siddharth have been together for 13 years. They got married in 2012, after dating for a few years.

In the same conversation, Vidya also revealed that she was cheated on in the past.
