Urvashi Rautela Says Leonardo DiCaprio Called Her ‘Queen of Cannes’, Shares Throwback Selfie

Actor Urvashi Rautela claims Leonardo DiCaprio called her the "Queen of Cannes" in 2022, reigniting controversy amid trolling and skepticism over their alleged meeting.

Actor Urvashi Rautela recently shared a photo of herself with Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio, reigniting conversations around their alleged meeting at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. The 31-year-old actor claimed that DiCaprio had called her the “Queen of Cannes,” which she referred to as a “Titanic compliment.”

Taking to Instagram, Rautela captioned the photo:"When Leonardo DiCaprio calls you the Queen of Cannes! Thank you, Leo — now that’s a Titanic compliment. #QueenMovesOnly #QueenOfCannes #LeoAndUR #UrvashiRautela #Cannes2025 #LeonardoDiCaprio"

The post, however, stirred mixed reactions, especially as it surfaced amid criticism over claims that Rautela blocked a staircase at a hotel in Cannes for a photoshoot, causing inconvenience to other guests waiting to use it.

While the actor did not clarify that the image was from an earlier year, she was trolled heavily in 2022 for a similar claim — that DiCaprio complimented her as a "talented actress" and admired her presence at the prestigious film festival.

Reflecting on her encounter with DiCaprio at the time, Rautela said, “I was freaking out and falling short of words after receiving compliments from Leonardo DiCaprio. I was so emotional and could feel happy tears in my eyes. At the same time, I was blushing too. He also appreciated me as a very talented actress.”

She described the moment as surreal, adding, “I am waking up pinching myself. Did that really happen last night? Was I dreaming about the sweet moment? I think it just shows how even younger actors want to be out there and inspires them to keep going. That’s my memory of meeting him.”

However, the internet remains skeptical, with many users pointing out that Leonardo DiCaprio did not attend the Cannes Film Festival in 2022, fueling speculation and further trolling around her claim.
