Salman Khan Encouraged Palak Tiwari To Work Behind The Camera Before Acting

Palak Tiwari reveals how Salman Khan mentored her at age 18, urging her to understand filmmaking behind the scenes before stepping into acting.

Not everyone begins their acting career with a megastar like Salman Khan as a mentor, but for Palak Tiwari, that’s exactly how her story began. Reflecting on her early days in Bollywood, Palak recently shared how Salman Khan’s straightforward advice and encouraging mentorship played a crucial role in shaping her journey as an actor.

During an appearance on The Bombay Journey podcast by Mashable India, Palak opened up about her first interactions with Salman and how those moments altered the course of her career.

Palak Tiwari began her career as an AD

Before Palak landed her debut role in ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, she got a hands-on experience in filmmaking by working as an assistant director on Salman’s film ‘Antim: The Final Truth’. That decision, she revealed, stemmed from a suggestion by Salman himself.

“It was at some Bigg Boss reunion, where Salman sir told my mom how tall I had become. He then said, ‘Kuch karna warna he life mein (Have you thought of anything with your life)?’ I said, ‘Yes sir I want to be an actor, sir.’ I was 17-18. He said that before you become an actor you need to learn what happens behind the camera. He is such a cool guy,” Palak recalled.

She also added, “I said okay, because you know as an actor one can take things for granted very easily.”

Still Star-Struck By Salman Khan

Even after working with Salman in a full-fledged film, Palak confessed she still gets nervous around him. “I’ve done a whole film with him, whenever I meet him till date, or even if I get a message from him, I get star-struck. I usually don’t get star-struck, you can make anyone sit in front of me. But when he’s in front of me, I stop speaking and start stuttering. He just changed my entire personality. Then he said, ‘Aaram se bolo (speak without hesitation).’”

Her candid admission gives a glimpse into the deep respect she holds for Salman, not just as a co-star, but as someone who genuinely impacted her growth.

What’s Next for Palak

After making her screen debut, Palak was last seen in the supernatural comedy ‘Bhootnii’, which released earlier this month. The film featured her alongside Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, and Sunny Singh.

From behind the scenes to the spotlight, Palak Tiwari’s journey proves that guidance from the right people—combined with humility and hard work—can truly pave the way to success in Bollywood.
