Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked and stabbed during a burglary attempt at his Bandra home on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. He was quickly rushed to Lilavati Hospital in an auto rickshaw by his eldest son, Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi. Reports suggest the burglar may be a relative of the household staff at the Pataudi-Kapoor residence. Khan underwent surgeries for the injuries, and his team has confirmed that he is now out of danger.
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Chief Operating Officer of Lilavati Hospital, stated that Saif Ali Khan was brought to the hospital around 3:30 AM with six stab wounds, two of which were deep, including one near his spine.
Informing about his present situation, Dr. Uttamani said, “Fortunately, Mr Saif Ali Khan’s surgery has been done very well. He is on a recovery path, the operation is over and he has been shifted to the ICU. He will be shifted to the normal ward in a day or two. After that, he can be taken care of. The injuries were deeper but our doctor and medical team have managed well.”
Mr Prashant Mehta, Permanent Trustee, Lilavati Hospital said, “Mr Saif Ali Khan is recovering well, we assure the best medical services to the family by the Lilavati Hospital team.”

According to Dr. Uttamani, a team of doctors has been attending to Saif Ali Khan, treating his stab wounds. The team includes:

Takling about Saif's condition, Dr Nitin Dange, Neurosurgeon Lilavati Hospital Mumbai said, “Mr Saif Ali Khan was admitted today morning around 3:00 am with an alleged history of assault from an unknown person at his residence. He sustained a major injury to the thoracic spine due to a lodged knife in his spine. Surgery was performed to remove the knife and also repair the leaking spinal fluid."
He further added, "There were two other deep wounds, on his left hand and right side of the neck which were repaired by the plastic surgery team led by Dr Leena Jain. He was also monitored by Dr Srinivas Kudva, the cardiologist. He is completely stable now recovering and out of danger. We will shift out of the ICU tomorrow morning and will plan the discharge in a day or two.”
