In the wake of the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, actor R Madhavan has joined the voices of solidarity within the film industry. The devastating incident, which took place on April 22 and claimed 26 lives, has led to a wave of mourning across the nation.
In a unified show of respect for the victims and their families, the Indian film fraternity has chosen to pause all film-related promotional activities.

Madhavan took to his Instagram Story to re-share a post acknowledging the industry's response, accompanied by a folded hands emoji.
The post, originally shared by a Mumbai-based photographer, outlined the industry’s immediate actions: "In light of the current situation, movie teasers, trailers, and launch events have been cancelled. Additionally, a major award ceremony has been cancelled, along with several brand launches. Like all other industries, our film industry also shares in the sorrow, grief, and solidarity during this difficult time.”
The actor, visibly shaken by the brutality of the attack, also posted a powerful message condemning the violence. He wrote: "Horrified, Dismayed, Aghast, Deep shock and sadness Heartbreaking #Pahalgamattack. Anger, Wrath, Revenge and retribution, Payback!! Decimate, Annihilate, Set an example, Coward Perpetuators."

About the terror attack
The attack in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam is being regarded as one of the deadliest in the Kashmir Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike. The government of India has since taken strong retaliatory measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the closure of the integrated checkpost at Attari, targeting Pakistan's continued support for cross-border terrorism.

Meanwhile, R Madhavan is currently earning praise for his role in Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, a gripping historical courtroom drama. Produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, the film features Akshay Kumar as Advocate C. Sankaran Nair, who took on the British Empire in a landmark case tied to the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
Madhavan plays Advocate Neville McKinley, while Ananya Panday stars as Dilreet Gill. The film also features Regina Cassandra as Parvathy Nair and Simon Paisley Day as General Reginald Dyer. Kesari Chapter 2 has opened to widespread acclaim from critics, audiences, and peers in the industry.
