New Delhi: Nushrratt Bharuccha has been stranded in Israel due to a dispute between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, a member of her team informed on Saturday. The actor travelled to Israel to attend the Haifa International Film Festival. According to a member of her team who spoke to Nushrratt, she was safe in a building's basement. But since then, they have been unable to contact her.
Nushrratt's team member said in a statement to India Today, "Nushrratt has been unfortunately stranded in Israel. She had flown there to attend the Haifa International Film Festival. The last time that I managed to get in touch with her was around 12.30 pm earlier today, when she was safe in a basement. For safety measures, further details cannot be disclosed.”
“However, since then, we were not able to connect. We are trying to get Nushrratt back safely to India and hope she returns back in the best of health and unharmed," he added.
During the Jewish holy holiday of Simchat Torah, Hamas launched an unexpected attack on Israel on Saturday morning that included militants scaling security barriers and a barrage of rockets fired from Gaza. According to the Israeli military, the terrorists of Hamas fired more than 5,000 missiles into Israel from the Gaza Strip and also kidnapped a number of Israeli troops close to the border.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, promised Hamas "mighty vengeance" on Sunday. "All of the places which Hamas is deployed, hiding and operating in, that wicked city, we will turn them into rubble," said Netanyahu.
The IDF will immediately use all its strength to destroy Hamas's capabilities. We will destroy them and will forcefully avenge this dark day that they have forced on Israel and its citizens. As Bialik wrote: 'Revenge for the blood of a little child has yet been devised by Satan'.
