Malaika Arora Responds To Arjun Kapoor's 'I Am Single' Comment: 'Entirely His Prerogative'

Malaika Arora has finally responded to Arjun Kapoor's viral comment on his single status. Malaika and Arjun's relationship came to an end earlier this year

Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor's relationship came to an end earlier this year after being together for several years. While Arjun openly acknowledged his single status during a promotional event for his upcoming film, Singham Again, Malaika had remained silent about the breakup. However, in a recent interview with Etimes, Malaika finally responded to Arjun's viral comment.

Malaika Arora on Arjun Kapoor's comment

Malaika addressed the matter by saying that Arjun’s statement was entirely his choice. "I am a very private person, and there are certain aspects of my life which I don’t want to elaborate on much. I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life," she explained.

"So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative. I just want to say that, yes, it has been a very trying year for various reasons. I think it is time for all of us to move on from whatever transpired in the year that went by. I am ready for the New Year and a new start in my life,” she further said.

What Arjun had said

Earlier, Arjun Kapoor, during the promotion of Singham Again, told the paparazzi, "Nahin, ab main single hoon, relax karo (No, I am now single. Relax)." This remark effectively ended any speculation about his relationship status with Malaika.

The couple, who began dating in 2018, had kept their relationship largely private, only sharing glimpses of their romantic vacations on social media. Despite their split, Arjun remained a supportive figure in Malaika's life, particularly during the loss of her father.

Arjun on being there for Malaika

Reflecting on their bond, Arjun shared in a recent interview with Raj Shamani, "In life, without going into one instance, I'd like to say when what happened with Khushi, Janhvi, there is an instinct and impulse. In this case, also, there is an instinct and impulse. If I formed an emotional bond with somebody, I'd always like to believe that I'd be there regardless of the good and the bad... I'm not somebody who is doing this for all and sundry. If I feel an emotion with someone, it will be there for life."
