Atlee's High-Octane Project Is Shelved Or Delayed? Salman Khan Clears The Air

After months of speculation, Salman Khan has officially confirmed that the much-awaited project is no longer in the works.

New Delhi: Bollywood moviegoers anticipating a Salman Khan-Atlee megahit will have to settle for less than what they were expecting. The superstar has formally called off the highly anticipated partnership. Director Atlee was said to be teaming up with Salman for a mass-action movie after the phenomenal success of 'Jawan' starring Shah Rukh Khan. Salman, however, shattered such expectations in an open group interview promoting his next Eid release 'Sikandar'.

The film, envisioned as a larger-than-life spectacle, hit a roadblock due to financial hurdles. Salman Khan shared, "I don’t think it’s happening right now. It was happening at one point in time. We tried really hard to work it out, but somehow it didn’t happen. I don’t know what exactly was the reason. I believe it was the budget of the film. It’s a very high-budget film. So now the film has been pushed."

With the Atlee project on ice, Salman’s packed calendar also took a hit. He shared, "You generally allocate dates for two films at a time, so now I have time in hand to do one film now and then another back to back," hinting at a reshuffling of his commitments. While the news may sting for fans dreaming of a Salman-Atlee fireworks display, the actor assured them he’s not slowing down.

Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’

All eyes are now on Sikandar, Salman’s next big outing, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and slated for an Eid release on March 30. The film boasts a starry lineup, including Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi, promising a festive treat for his loyal fanbase.

Salman Khan will also star with his actor friend Sanjay Dutt in an upcoming action flick. Talking about the project, he said, “I'm doing another big action film after 'Sikandar'. That's rustic action. I'm doing it with my elder brother in the industry, Sanj... Sanjay Dutt. The director is not confirmed yet.”
