Salman Khan on death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi gang

Amidst the flurry of promotional activities, Salman Khan took some time for a conversation with select media in Mumbai. In recent months, the actor has reportedly been receiving multiple threats, allegedly from the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has previously targeted him. After the tragic death of NCP leader Baba Siddique in October 2024, Salman, a close friend of Siddique, was reportedly marked as a target by the Bishnoi gang.

The actor has finally opened up about the death threats he has been receiving. Salman said, “Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai. Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai.”

Salman Khan reportedly received a threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which demanded that the Bollywood star either visit a temple and apologize for allegedly killing a blackbuck or pay a sum of Rs 5 crore. The Mumbai Police Traffic Control unit received a threat from an individual claiming to be the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The message warned that Salman Khan would be killed unless certain demands were met.

“If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our (Bishnoi community) temple and apologise or pay ₹5 crore. If he does not do so, we will kill him; our gang is still active,” the message said.

In April, suspected gang members even opened fire outside the actor's Bandra residence.

Salman Khan's blackbuck poaching case

Salman Khan was accused of poaching blackbucks in a village in Rajasthan in 1998 while shooting for Sooraj Barjatya's 'Hum Saath Saath Hain', alongside Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, and Sonali Bendre.

Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu, and Neelam Kothari were acquitted, but Salman Khan was convicted. Over the 26-year legal case, Salman was arrested, released on bail, acquitted, convicted, and then granted bail again.
