Akshay Kumar Joins Shah Rukh Khan And Ajay Devgn For Another Vimal Ad After Backlash, Internet Reacts

Actors Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgn have teamed up once more for a new Vimal tobacco product campaign.

New Delhi: Actors Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgn have teamed up once more for a new Vimal tobacco product campaign. A Shah Rukh fan account uploaded the footage to their profile on Instagram. The advertisement also features actor-model Soundarya Sharma in addition to the three actors.

The commercial opens with Shah Rukh and Ajay standing outside Akshay Kumar's home, waiting for him. Akshay, though, is absorbed in listening music on his headphones. Shah Rukh decides to throw a ball in the direction of Akshay's glass window as Ajay honks in order to get his attention. However, it shatters the window of his neighbour Soundarya.

Ajay Devgn is blamed for the breach in her window when she emerges from the balcony enraged at it, while Shah Rukh is terrified and points at him. After that, a frustrated Ajay consumes a Vimal product while pointing towards Akshay's window. Akshay approaches the window due to the aroma of the product, and Ajay requests him to come down. They collectively perform the brand's signature move as the advertisement comes to an end.

Reacting to the video, a user said, "Akshay will have to hear from the people. He had said he won't do tobacco ads." "Akshay Kumar had said that now he will not do pan masala ad because his fans were not happy when he first did Vimal. Then why did he do this again?" asked another person. A comment read, "Akshay Kumar was not going to do Vimal ad, then what happened? What is this decision?" "Unhappy, upset, he didn't stick to his words," said another Instagram user. However, a fan said, "This is probably not tobacco, but some flavoured betelnut."

Akshay Kumar had earlier issued an apology after he faced backlash by fans and followers for being part of a tobacco ad. The actor had shared a post which read as, "I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi."

"With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes."

On the work front, Akshay Kumar's latest release 'Mission Raniganj' is running in theatres.
