Akshay’s donates Rs 1 Crore to the Anjaneya Sewa Trust
Akshay has pledged to feed these animals, seeking blessings for his family and dedicating this act of service to his late parents, Hari Om and Aruna Bhatia, as well as his father-in-law Rajesh Khanna. The initiative is spearheaded by Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj of the Anjaneya Sewa Trust. According to the trust’s founder, Priya Gupta, Akshay responded immediately and generously to their outreach, showcasing both his compassion and commitment.
“I have always known Akshay Kumar to be an extremely kind and generous man,” said Gupta. “He not only donated instantly but also dedicated this sewa in the name of both his parents Hari Om and Aruna Bhatia and his father-in-law Rajesh Khanna. Akshay is a socially conscious citizen of India, equally concerned about the residents of Ayodhya. We will ensure that no citizen is inconvenienced during the feeding, and streets are kept clean,” she added.
In August this year, the actor donated Rs 1.21 crore towards the renovation of Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai. The actor had earlier donated Rs 3 crore for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Akshay Kumar on poor performances of his latest films
During the trailer launch of his last film 'Khel Khel Mein', Akshay opened about the underwhelming performance of his recent films.
He said, “Whatever happens, happens for the good. I don't think too much about the box office failure of my films. Four or five of my films haven't worked, and I receive so many messages saying, 'Sorry, yaar, fikar mat kar' (Don't worry, my friend). I'm not dead! It feels like people are sending me obituary messages, like how people send condolences. One journalist even wrote, 'You'll be back.' I called him up and asked, 'Why are you writing this? What does 'back' mean? Where have I gone,” Kumar said at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, ‘Khel Khel Mein.’
Akshay Kumar is preparing for the release of 'Singham Again', directed by Rohit Shetty. The film, which also stars Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Deepika Padukone, is set for a grand release on November 1.
