Singer Adnan Sami, who became Indian citizen in 2016, found himself at the receiving end of trolling after he praised the Indian Armed Forces for the successful execution of Operation Sindoor. While his patriotic messages on X (formerly Twitter) were met with support by many, a section of social media users took the opportunity to question his loyalty, prompting sharp responses from the artist.
What Adnan Sami tweeted
The trolling began when Sami posted "Jai Hind” in praise of the armed forces and shared a bold poster that read "Sindoor se tandoor tak." The posts were in reference to India’s covert strike across the border on May 7, which targeted terror launch pads and operational bases in Pakistan and PoK.
Adnan Sami's replies to trolls
One user accused him of trying to appease right-wing groups with his posts, writing in Hindi, “Ye tweets kr k RSS walo se bachna chahta hai?” To this, Sami shot back without mincing words: “Tum RSS ko bhool jaao…Tum apni A** ko bachaao!!!”

As the thread escalated, another user threatened the singer, saying, “A** to teri pharen gy wo b or hum b.” Sami then posted an image of a needle and green thread—clearly alluding to Pakistan’s flag—and quipped: “Uss Waqt tak yeh meri taraf se Tohfa.”

This isn’t the first time Sami has addressed criticism regarding his national allegiance. In another instance, when someone questioned where he might run off to if tensions between India and Pakistan worsened, Sami replied, “Being judgmental & pseudo patriotic from UK….Yeah right! I’m extremely happy in India!”
Adnan Sami tweets about his interaction with Pakistani youth
Just days before Operation Sindoor, Sami had shared an experience from a recent trip to Baku, Azerbaijan. He recounted a conversation with a few Pakistani youth who expressed regret about the state of their country.
“Met some very sweet Pakistani boys while walking on the beautiful streets of Baku, Azerbaijan… They said ‘Sir, You are very lucky.. You left Pakistan in good time.. We also want to change our citizenship…WE HATE OUR ARMY…They have destroyed our country!!’ I replied ‘I knew this long ago,’” Sami posted on May 4. The tweet quickly gained traction.
Born in the UK to a Pakistani father and Indian mother, Adnan Sami moved to India in 2001 and gave up his dual citizenship to become an Indian national in 2016.
Operation Sindoor
On May 7, Indian forces launched strikes on nine terror-linked sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These included key operational hubs like Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur—associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed—and Lashkar-e-Taiba's Markaz Taiba in Muridke. Targets were also hit in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Sialkot, and Barnala. The strikes were in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 Indian tourists.
