Box Office: 'Bhool Bhualaiyaa 2' On Its Way To Reach 175 Cr Mark, 'Samrat Prithviraj' Has A Slow Monday

'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' became one of the second biggest Bollywood films, this year.

New Delhi: Kartik Aaryan's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' seems to be on a spree, following in the footsteps of pan-India films 'KGF: Chapter 2' and SS Rajamouli's 'RRR'. The film, that has been ruling over the box office for the past two weeks, has crossed the 150 crore mark, minting Rs 157 crore in its third week.

'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' became one of the second biggest Bollywood films, this year. Kartik Aaryan has been labeled as a saviour for making a Bollywood film rule at the box office once again, after back-to-back Hindi films failed to match with the collections of the pan-Indian movies.

Bollywood trade analyst and film critic shared the weekend collections of the film in its third week and wrote, "#BhoolBhulaiyaa2 is in no mood to slow down... Mass circuits are driving its biz... Absence of major films [till 24 June] should help it reach ₹ 175 cr mark... [Week 3] Fri 2.81 cr, Sat 4.55 cr, Sun 5.71 cr, Mon 2.25 cr. Total: ₹ 157.07 cr. #India biz."

'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2', starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu among others, released on May 20.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar starrer 'Samrat Prithviraj', that fared well over the weekend with a collection of Rs 16 crores, went for a toss on Monday, with its collection dipping to around Rs 5 crore.

Released on June 3, the film directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, had a slow start on its opening day, but gained pace over the weekend. 'Samrat Prithviraj' is facing tough competition from pan-India Tamil film 'Vikram' that stars Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupati and Fahad Faasil, some of the most iconic stars of the south film industry.

It is also facing competition from pan-India Telugu film 'Major' starring Adivi Sesh, Sai Manjrekar and Sobhita Dhulipala.

'Samrat Prithiviraj', that marks the Bollywood debut of former Miss World Manushi Chillar, also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in key roles.
