'Baahubali' Actor Sathyaraj Aka Katappa Tests COVID+, Hospitalised In Chennai

According to reports, the actor was rushed to the hospital on January 7 evening as his condition deteriorated.

New Delhi: The rising COVID-19 cases have led to the contraction of the virus by several popular celebrities in the entertainment industry. While some are experiencing mild symptoms, some have to be hospitalised depending on the severity of their condition. Recently, legendary Telugu actor Sathyaraj, best known for his role as 'Katappa' in SS Rajamouli's Prabhas starrer epic drama 'Baahubali', is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai.

According to reports, the actor was rushed to the hospital on January 7 evening as his condition deteriorated. The actor was in home quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19. The reports suggest that the actor was taken to the hospital after his symptoms got severe and he required immediate medical attention. Any official statement on the actor's health condition is still awaited.

Recently, south actor Mahesh Babu also tested positive for the novel coronavirus as he returned to India post the New Year celebrations. The actor had gone overseas to celebrate Christmas and New Year with his family.

He shared a post on his social media informing his fans about himself being infected. The post read,"To all my fans and well-wishers, Despite taking all the necessary precautions, I have tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms. I have isolated myself and have been following medical guidance.

Request all those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested. I urge everyone who has not taken their vaccination to do so immediately, as it reduces the risk of severe symptoms and hospitalisation. Please follow all the COVID norms and stay safe. Can't wait to be back. Love."

Other actors and celebrities from the south film industry including Manchu Lakshmi, music director Taman and actress Trisha also shared information of themselves getting infected. Trisha said that she got infected despite being fully vaccinated and taking all the necessary precautions.
