'Ala Re Ala' Sidharth Malhotra In Rohit Shetty Cop Universe On Amazon Prime

As soon as Sidharth announced the news, the comments section was filled with fans waiting in anticipation of what the new cop-based series will bring.

New Delhi: Sidharth Malhotra will now be a part of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe on streaming giant Amazon Prime Video. The ‘Shershaah’ actor took to his official Instagram handle to announce the news.

Sharing the first look with audiences on Instagram, he wrote, "Rohit Shetty’s cop universe goes digital tomorrow at 11am! @itsrohitshetty @rohitshettypicturez."

Looks like something important is going to happen at 11 am on Wednesday?

Karan Johar, who had given Sidharth his first break with ‘The Student Of The Year’ wrote ‘Hero’ heart emoji. Sidharth’s ‘Yodhaa’ co-star also responded with a fire emoji while director Milap Zaveri congratulated with, “Congratsssss buddy!!! Aa raha hai police! You are looking dhamaakedaar 🔥😍👏❤️".

As soon as Sidharth announced the news, the comments section was filled with fans waiting in anticipation of what the new cop-based series will bring.

Sharing their excitement about the collaboration, someone wrote, “Ala re Ala @sidmalhotra 😍🔥,” while another fan wrote, “Damn excited for this one Sid 🤩.”

Rohit Shetty also shared the announcement on his official Instagram page. He wrote, "Action begins tomorrow at 11:00 AM! #NowFilming @primevideoin @sidmalhotra". Anupam Kher wished Shetty good luck while Bhumi Pednekar also responded with a fire emoji to the news. Ranveer Singh who has earier worked with Shetty on Simmba wrote, "Kya baat 🔥."

Sidharth’s last film ‘Shershaah’ was appreciated on all fronts. He portrayed Captain Vikram Batra during the Kargil War. A biological war drama, ‘Shershaah’ received massive support and appreciation from fans and is currently rated 8.7 on IMDb.

On the other hand, Sidharth also has other projects like ‘Thank God’, ‘Yodha' and ‘Mission Majnu’ in the pipeline.

The cop-series on Amazon will mark the directorial debut of Sushwanth Prakash who has previously worked with Rohit Shetty in films like ‘Simmba’ and ‘Dilwale’.
