After Shershaah, Kiara Advani & Sidharth Malhotra To Reunite For Rom-Com Film: Reports

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra's untitled rom com will be directed by Shashank Khaitan and will perhaps be the third film of the Dulhania trilogy

New Delhi: As one of Bollywood's favourite couples, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani have created quite a sensation as their relationship rumours were recently addressed on the 'Koffee WIth Karan Season 7'. During an episode featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Vicky Kaushal, Karan Johar, who hosts the celebrity talk show, also hinted that a wedding between Sidharth and Kiara might soon be on the cards. As fans reel with excitement over this news, we have something more to keep the anticipation high. After a super successful film 'Shershaah' starring Kiara and Sid, it is now being speculated that the two will be featuring in a rom com under Karan Johar's banner Dharma Productions.

Their untitled rom com will be directed by Shashank Khaitan. A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, "The yet untitled rom com will be directed by Shashank Khaitan, known for films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. The filmmaker had a detailed meeting with Sid and Kiara recently, and the duo have agreed in principle to be a part of Shashank’s rom com. The paperwork is still remaining, but if all goes as planned, the film will go on floors by the end of this year."

The rom com will fall in Shashank's Dulhania series and as per Pinkvilla, the filmmaker had been toying with the idea of completing his Dulhania trilogy for quite some time but things did not materialize back then to make it happen. Shashank then went on to make 'Dhadak' and recently announced 'Screw Dheela' with Tiger Shroff and Rashmika Mandanna but the action-film has been put on hold due to budget and remuneration issues, reported Pinkvilla.

Earlier, there were rumours of the star couple reuniting for 'Adal Badal' but the film is far from going on the floors.

“The Shashank film is different from Adal Badal. While Sunir Kheterpal has locked a script, acquired the rights, and registered a title, he is yet to find a director. The things on that film will proceed only once team Adal Badal has a director on board,” a source was quoted as saying to Pinkvilla.

Shashank's next directorial, 'Govinda Naam Mera' with Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani will soon be making a digital premiere.
