Bassi, a seat designated for scheduled tribe candidates, is set for a runoff between two former bureaucrats. Laxman Meena, a former Indian Police Service (IPS) official, is the Congress nominee, whereas Chandramohan Meena, a retired IAS official, is the BJP contender.
