Poll Of Polls Results 2022: BJP Likely To Retain Gujarat, Photo Finish Expected In Himachal Pradesh

Poll of Polls Results 2022: BJP likely to win record number of seats in Gujarat, edge past Congress in neck-and-neck fight in Himachal Pradesh.

The BJP is likely to sweep Gujarat and form government for a seventh consecutive term while it is expected to edge past Congress in Himachal by a slight margin, exit polls have predicted. However, two exit polls have predicted a neck-and-neck fight between BJP and Congress in Himachal Pradesh, where results could go either way.

Gujarat has 182 assembly seats and the majority mark is 92. There are 68 seats in Himachal and the majority mark is 35. The counting of votes in both states will take place on December 8.

Gujarat Exit Poll Of Polls

Most exit polls predicted that the BJP would win a record number of seats in the Gujarat, anywhere between 117-148 in the 182-member assembly, while the Congress was predicted to bag seats in the range of 30-51 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party was projected to bag anything between three and 13 seats.

The BJP's best tally so far came in 2002, where it bagged 127 seats.

As per the ABP News-CVoter Exit Poll Results 2022, BJP is expected to bag anywhere between 128-140 seats and secure a vote share of 49.4 per cent.

The ABP News-CVoter Exit Poll gave Congress 31-43 seats, a drastic fall from the 77 seats it won in the previous Assembly election. The Congress is expected to get just 32.5 per cent of the votes.

New entrant AAP is likely to open its account in the state and get anywhere between 3-11 seats.

India Today-Axis My India expects a strong BJP win, with the party securing between 129 and 151 seats. The Congress, it forecast, will get between 16 and 30 seats. This survey also gives the AAP the most hope - with nine to 21 seats expected.

Himachal Pradesh Exit Poll Of Polls

In Himachal Pradesh, where voters have traditionally changed the government every five years, ABP News-CVoter Exit Poll has predcited that BJP will be able to retain the hill state by winning 33 to 41 seats.

Congress will be breathing down BJP's neck but the projected seat range (24 to 32 assembly seats) suggest that it will not be enough for the grand old party to return to power.

With independents pegged to get 0 to 4 seats, as per the ABP-C Voter exit poll, they are set to play a big role in case of a hung assembly.

For Himachal Pradesh, Aaj Tak-Axis My India predicted a close contest between Congress and BJP. It said the BJP would get 24-34 seats and the Congress 30-40 seats.

India TV predicted that the BJP would bag 35-40 seats, Congress 26-31 and AAP zero.

News X-Jan Ki Baat survey said the BJP was likely to get 32-40 seats in the hill state, Congress 27-34 and AAP zero.

While Republic TV P-MARQ predicted that the BJP would get 34-39, Congress 28-33 and AAP 0-1, the Times Now-ETG said the average seats BJP was likely to get was 38 and the Congress 28.
