UP Election 2022: Amit Shah Releases BJP’s Manifesto. Promises For Farmers, Women & Students | Key Points
The manifesto was released by Home Minister Amit Shah in presence of UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, and BJP state chief Swatantra Dev Singh.
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has declared its manifesto for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections. The manifesto is named ‘Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra’.
The manifesto was released by Home Minister Amit Shah in presence of UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, UP Dy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, and BJP state chief Swatantra Dev Singh. Shah released the manifesto during a ‘Jan sabha’ in Lucknow's Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.
During the release of the manifesto, he asserted his faith that BJP will form a government in UP again with the mandate. He recapped the last five years of the BJP government in the state and said that they fulfilled 92 percent of the promises made in 2017.
The party has made four major promises in its manifesto.
- The first promise of the manifesto is to double the amount of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKISAN) scheme for landless farmers. Currently, the PM-Kisan amount is Rs 6,000 annually which is directly transferred to beneficiaries in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. The farmers will also be proved free electricity.
- The next promise is for the female voters as the party promises to give a scooty to the female students and working women. It also promises free coaching to female students preparing for UPSC and PSC.
- The manifesto then looks at the needs of the students, promising a laptop to the students considering the online education system that has developed due to the covid-19 pandemic. It also promises to generate employment for the youth of the state and give at least one job to every household.
- The party also promises to give two free cylinders every year to the consumers at the festival of Holi and Diwali under the Ujjwala Yojna. The scheme provides a free gas connection to households and the cost of the same will be covered by the state government.
Apart from these, the party has also promised the renovation of the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple which has been in the headlines for some time now. the party also promises health insurance to the Anganwadi workers under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. And the amount for Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojna will be increased to Rs 25,000 from the current amount of Rs 15,000.
The women above the age of 60 years will be allowed to travel for free in public transport. The manifesto also promises to launch Pink toilets for women in the state. The pension for old people will be increased to Rs 1,500 per month, promises the manifesto.
The students will be provided with free tablets and smartphones. Besides, the Major Dhyan Chand Sports Infrastructure Mission will also be launched. Sportspersons will be provided free sports kits under the mission.
It further talks about the healthcare system promising the hiring of 6,000 doctors and 10,000 paramedic experts. The seats in medical colleges will also be doubled.
The manifesto also mentions that the BJP government will ensure 10 years punishment and 1 lakh fine for accused of 'Love Jihad'
Shah also mentioned during his address that a Lata Mangeshkar performing arts academy will be set up in the state to provide training in cultural arts.
The BJP manifesto was earlier scheduled to be released on February 7, but it was postponed in light of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s demise.
The Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are set to take place in seven phases. The first phase of the elections will take place on February 10.
