West Bengal Election Results: Soon after it was clear that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is all set for a second term in West Bengal after a spectacular win in 2021 Assembly Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday evening extended his wishes to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo.
According to latest trends, ruling TMC is set to retain power in the keenly-watched state of West Bengal as the counting of votes for the assembly polls in four states and a union territory was taken up at a time when the country is grappling with a raging COVID pandemic.

Even as counting of votes in various constituencies is underway, latest trends reveal that TMC is leading in as many as 216 out of 292 Assembly seats of West Bengal, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 75.
While extending his best wishes, PM Modi also said that the Central government will continue to extend all possible support to West Bengal government to fulfil people's aspirations.
PM Modi also thanked people of the state for bestowing trust in BJP in Assembly Elections. It is worth noting that the saffron party, who secured mere 3 seats in 2016 Assembly polls, managed to win 75 seats in 2021.
Other senior BJP leaders also congratulated TMC supremo for her stellar performance in Assembly polls.
In a series of tweets, senior party leader and Union Minister Rajnath Singh wished the best to Banerjee for her next tenure.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also congratulated Banerjee in a tweet and said, "Good wishes for your next tenure."
As per the latest trends Mamata Banerjee-led TMC is again forming the government in West Bengal where it was locked in a high-octane contest with the BJP.
