Punjab Board result 2019 merit list released: Neha Verma tops with 99.54%, 3 students secure 100% under sports category

Neha Verma is a student of Teja Singh Sutantar school has clinched the coveted top spot by scoring 99.54%. While Nandini Mahajan, Ritika and Neeraj Yadav scored 100% to become toppers in sports category.

Punjab Board 10thMerit List 2019: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced the names of the toppers of Punjab Board Class 10thExams Result 2019 today i.e. on Wednesday, 8th May 2019 on its official website – pseb.ac.in. Neha Verma is a student of Teja Singh Sutantar school has clinched the coveted top spot by scoring 99.54%. While Nandini Mahajan, Ritika and Neeraj Yadav scored 100% to become toppers in sports category. The Punjab Board Class 10th 2019 Merit list and pass percentages were announced in Press Conference called at 11:30 am at the PSEB Chairman’s office in SAS Nagar, Mohali Punjab. In 2018, Gurpreet Singh of Harkrishan Sahib Public Senior secondary School, Ludhiana was declared the state topper with 98%, while Jasmeen Kaur of Shishu Model High School, Kapurthala closely followed with 97.85%, claiming the second spot. Last year, the highest pass percentage was recorded by Mansa district with 73.76% students passing the exam. Muktsar and Bathinda districts too followed close with 72.39% and 70.12% pass percentages, respectively.The lowest pass percentage in the state of Punjab was recorded at the border district Tarn Taran with just 33.34% students passing the exams in 2018. Adarsh and affiliated schools had registered a pass percentage of 72.66%.. A total of 3,68,295 candidates had appeared for the class 10th exams in 2018, out of which 1,56,774 were girls and 2,11,521were boys. The overall pass percentage in 2018 was registered at 59.47%, with girls putting up a fair performance at 69.13% pass percentage and nearly every second boy in the state board failing the exam registering 52.31% pass percentage. As per past trends, PSEB aka Punjab Board will host the Class 10th Result 2019 tomorrow i.e. on Thursday, 9th May 2019 on its official website – pseb.ac.in, a day after the declaration of merit list. However, some sources have revealed that the exam results may go live by evening, today. The original marksheets can be collected from the schools directly in due course of time. Students will require original marksheets to apply for class 11th or other vocational courses later.
