On Cam: Tension Erupts In Hyderabad After Men Wave Swords Near Mosque During Procession

A tense situation emerged in Nacharam Mallapur on Wednesday night after a group involved in a procession allegedly brandished swords and chanted slogans near a mosque. The incident took place outside Masjid-e-Aashraf in Chankyapuri Colony, prompting concern among residents.
A widely circulated video on social media showed around 10 to 12 individuals, two of whom were seen carrying swords, waving saffron flags and shouting slogans in front of the mosque, reported Siasat Daily. According to reports, the group was on its way back from a Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti procession when the event transpired.
Eyewitnesses reported that prayers were ongoing inside the mosque when the group gathered outside, leading to unease among worshippers. The presence of weapons and the high-energy slogans heightened apprehension in the locality.
Police arrived at the scene promptly to assess the situation and ensure there was no escalation.

In Hyderabad, Veer Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's 395th birth anniversary was celebrated with devotion on Wednesday. Several people gathered to take out procession in Hyderabad, Secunderabad and other parts of the city. The participants took part in the rally, clad with a saffron turban, and raised slogans.
From Puranapul Darwaza to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue at Salar Jung Bridge, the Sri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maratha Navyuvak Mandal organised a grand procession in Hyderabad.
The event led to traffic snarls in parts of Hyderabad due to the procession.
However, Telangana High Court earlier directed the police to provide permission for Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
