The fourth phase of the Central Universities Entrance Test-Undergraduate was scheduled from August 17-20 with 3.72 lakh candidates set to appear.
New Delhi: The fourth phase of Central Universities Entrance Test-Undergraduate, CUET-UG, has been deferred for 11,000 candidates to August 30 to accommodate their choice of city for exam centre, officials said Saturday, as reported by PTI.
"The exam for over 11,000 out of 3.72 lakh candidates has been postponed to August 30 to accommodate their choice of city for the exam centre. NTA has increased the capacity at centres and also added more exam centres besides making efforts to ensure that the quality of the centres is enhanced," PTI quoted UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar as saying.
"It has also been decided to station additional technical manpower by deploying the facility of Associate Professor level as technical observer at every centre to ensure smooth conduct of examination," Kumar added.
The fourth phase of the Central Universities Entrance Test-Undergraduate was scheduled from August 17-20 and a total of 3.72 lakh candidates were set to appear for the exam.
The National Testing Agency, NTA, which is conducting the CUET-UG had earlier said that all phases of the exam will conclude on August 28.
The second phase of the CUET was marred with technical glitches, due to which the NTA decided to cancel exams at various centres.
Kumar had last week said the exam was cancelled at various centres following indications and reports of "sabotage".

Earlier, last week, it was announced that CUET for aspirants who were affected by cancellations due to technical issues will now be held from August 24 to 28, 2022.
“In the second phase, the exams scheduled between August 4 to 6 were deferred at a few centres due to administrative and technical reasons. Earlier, we had announced the exams would be conducted from August 12-14. However, many candidates had approached us requesting not to schedule exams on said dates as a series of festivals were falling during the period," an NTA official was quoted by PTI.
