MCD Polls 2022: Delhi Congress Chief Finds Name Missing From Voters' List
MCD Polls 2022: "My name is neither in the voter list nor in the deleted list. My wife has voted. Officials are checking it," Anil Chaudhary said.
MCD Polls 2022: Anil Chaudhary, the head of the Delhi Congress, was not able to vote in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election on Sunday because his name wasn't on the list of registered voters, news agency ANI reported.
Chaudhary claimed the officials told him that they are checking it. "My name is neither in the voter list nor in the deleted list. My wife has voted. Officials are checking it," he said.

Regarding the deletion of his name from the electoral roll, Delhi State Election Commission writes to Anil Chaudhary: "State Election Commission, Delhi has merely adopted Electoral Roll prepared by ECI for the conduct of elections to MCD and as such the State Election Commission Delhi has no jurisdiction to make any additions or deletions. You may like to take up the matter with CEO, Delhi."

The former MLA said that many Congress employees could not vote since their names were not on the voters' list in an interview with The Indian Express.
“I am getting several calls from our control room that their votes have been deleted. Our workers in Okhla, Seelampur have not been able to vote. Not just our workers, but common people have also not been able to vote,” Chaudhary was quoted by Indian Express in its report.
He said that while former MLAs and MPs are always included as voters, the administrators purposely erased his name from the voter list.
An Election Commission employee stationed at the Dallupura voting place who was contacted by The Indian Express said that Chaudhary might not have been home during the survey to determine who the local voters were.
“We conducted a survey to find who lives in the area and who does not. Anil Chaudhary might have not been in his house when we visited for the survey. This can be one of the reasons why his name is not on the list,” Satish Kumar, the BLO supervisor at the polling centre was quoted by Indian Express in its report.
