Earlier in June, a man died after he jumped in front of a metro train in Noida. A police official, while talking to news agency PTI, said that the incident took place at Sector 52 station on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's corridor. The official said that the incident was reported in the morning after which officials of the local Sector 49 police station rushed to the spot. He further added that the deceased appeared to be 35 years old.

Prior to this in February, a "mentally ill" man allegedly died by suicide by jumping in front of a moving train at the Mayur Vihar-1 metro station on the Blue Line in east Delhi. The deceased was identified as Ajay Laxman Pakhale, a former senior manager at Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).
