20 CMs, 50 Celebrities, Business Tycoons: Who All Are Invited To Delhi CM Swearing-In Ceremony?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and over 50 high-security leaders will attend the event at Ramlila Maidan.

After a massive victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on February 8, the stage is set for the swearing-in of the next Chief Minister of Delhi on February 20, party sources have said.

The oath ceremony is likely to be held around 4.30 pm on February 20 (Thursday) with the council of ministers also expected to take oath along with a chief minister at Ramlila Maidan in the capital.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and over 50 high-security leaders will attend the event at Ramlila. Top BJP leaders, including chief ministers from 20 BJP-ruled states, Union Ministers and NDA leaders have been invited for the ceremony.

The preparations have already begun at the Ramlila Maidan for the grand ceremony. The BJP has made a grand return to power in Delhi after a gap of more than 26 years, winning 48 seats in the 70-member Assembly.

BJP leaders Parvesh Verma, who defeated former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi seat, party state chief Vijender Gupta, and Satish Upadhyay are among the frontrunners for the Delhi's top post. Pawan Sharma, Ashish Sood, Rekha Gupta, and Shikha Rai are also among the other contenders for the post of chief minister.

Preparations Underway For Grand Event

The preparations are underway at the Ramlila Maidan for the February 20 ceremony even as BJP leaders Vinod Tawde, Tarun Chugh, and Virendra Sachdeva will visit Ramlila Maidan on Tuesday.

All roads leading to Ramlila Maidan will be shut from Wednesday night (February 19) in view of the swearing-in. Only VVIP vehicles will be allowed entry into the Ramlila Maidan for the event.

Before the swearing-in ceremony, a colourful musical program will be held on the stage at Ramlila Maidan, which will see the performance of noted singer Kailash Kher.

Several Celebrities To Attend Swearing-In Of Delhi CM

After the Maharashtra swearing-in, which saw the participation of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and others, the oath-taking in Delhi is also set to be a star-studded event.

Around 30,000 guests have been invited to the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP CM in Delhi. Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar, Vivek Oberoi, Hema Malini, Kailash Kher, and more than 50 film celebrities will be present.

Apart from celebrities, renowned business tycoons, including Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, among other dozen industrialists, will also attend the ceremony.

Baba Ramdev, Swami Chidanand, and Baba Bageshwar Dhirendra Shastri have also been invited to the event. 

Apart from celebrities and prominent personalities, BJP leaders and workers from other states who were deployed during the Delhi Assembly elections have also been invited. Moreover, "Ladli Behanas" and farmers from the capital are also invited.
