Yellow Alert In Karnataka, Rains Likely In Bengaluru Till May 15. Check Forecast

Bengaluru Weather Today: Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka are likely to witness rainfall as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, and the south interior part of the state till May 15.

Thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and heavy rainfall are expected across the region, with gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h and potentially surging up to 50 km/h, the IMD said Monday.

The weather system is anticipated to bring intense thunderstorms and persistent rainfall over the next several days. Heavy showers are likely to continue through Wednesday and Thursday, with localised flooding possible in vulnerable areas.

According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC), widespread showers with scattered thunder and lightning are likely to occur across much of the state, including Bengaluru.

In the state capital, conditions will remain partly cloudy, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers expected daily through May 15. Gusty winds are likely to accompany the rainfall, particularly in the late afternoon and evening hours. Sudden shifts in weather patterns may occur, and residents are advised to stay alert and take precautions.

Authorities have urged the public to monitor official updates and avoid outdoor activities during periods of intense weather.
