Woman Searched Ways To Kill Before Allegedly Murdering Husband
A 25-year-old woman arrested for allegedly murdering her husband and attempting to pass off the crime as a suicide.

In a chilling turn of events, Delhi Police have arrested a 25-year-old woman for allegedly murdering her husband and attempting to pass off the crime as a suicide. The incident took place in the Nihal Vihar area of the capital, and investigators are now headed to Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly to question a relative who may be linked to the case, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The victim, 32-year-old Md Sahid, was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital by his brother, Zafar Hussain. Despite efforts to save him, Sahid succumbed to his injuries—injuries his wife claimed were self-inflicted.
Arranged Marriage Ends In Tragedy
Sahid and his wife had been married for two and a half years, following an arranged match. Both originally hailed from Bareilly, where their families still reside. What began as a seemingly normal union quickly unraveled behind closed doors, police said.
During questioning, the accused made disturbing revelations. She told investigators that she was unhappy in the marriage, citing a lack of sexual satisfaction. She also claimed her husband was drowning in debt due to a growing addiction to online gambling.
Allegations Of An Affair Spark Further Investigation
Adding another layer to the already complex case, the woman accused Sahid of having an illicit relationship with his cousin, who lives in Bareilly. Delhi Police have since dispatched a team to the city to locate and question the cousin, suspecting a possible connection to Sahid’s death.
“This aspect of the investigation is ongoing, and we are examining all leads,” a senior officer involved in the case said.
Injuries And Internet Searches Raise Red Flags
A PCR call alerting authorities to the incident was made at 4:15 p.m. on July 20, reporting a medico-legal case from the hospital. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sachin Sharma, Sahid had three superficial injuries on his abdomen. The wife initially claimed that the injuries were self-inflicted due to his gambling-related debts.
"She also mentioned ingestion of unknown pills, vomiting, and subsequent unconsciousness," Sharma stated.
However, police grew suspicious when they examined the scene of the alleged suicide. According to officials, the woman had cleaned the house before authorities arrived, potentially destroying crucial evidence. Even more damning, a review of her internet history revealed disturbing search queries on how to kill someone.
As investigators continue to piece together what really happened in the hours leading up to Sahid’s death, the case has sparked widespread shock.
