THIS Superstition Spurred Sonam Raghuvanshi To Kill Husband Raja, Says Victim's Father

Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of murdering her husband Raja, allegedly plotted the crime after watching crime shows and a superstition.

Murdered businessman Raja Raghuvanshi's father on Wednesday said that the prime accused in the case, Sonam Raghuvanshi, committed the crime after watching shows like Crime Patrol. Sonam, who was caught on June 9, is accused of plotting her husband's murder with her purported paramour.

Raja Raghuvanshi's decomposed body with the fatal head injuries was found on June 2 near Wei Sawdong falls in Meghalaya.

Raja's father also said that both were Manglik and in Mangal Dosh if either the wife dies or the husband, then Mangal Dosh ends.  "Sonam might have killed Raja to end her Mangal Dosh, so that she could marry her lover," he said.

Raja's father said that Sonam had suddenly planned to go on a honeymoon. He, too, was unaware of the honeymoon plan. He came to know about it only after the couple had boarded the flight.

He said that Raja was not very happy with the marriage and had been having second thoughts about it.

How Was Raja Raghuvanshi Murdered?

Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered during what was supposed to be a honeymoon trip to Sohra, Meghalaya. The murder was allegedly orchestrated by his wife, Sonam, and her purported paramour, Raj Kushwaha.

According to police, Sonam and Raj jointly plotted Raja’s killing. While Raj never physically went to Shillong, he played a key role by hiring three contract killers — Akash, Vishal, and Anand — and coordinated the murder remotely over the phone.

Sonam allegedly lured Raja to an isolated stretch of road under the pretext of sightseeing. Once there, the three hired attackers ambushed Raja and struck him with sharp-edged weapons. The post-mortem report later confirmed he was hit twice on the head with a sharp object, leading to his death on the spot.

Raja used to go to the gym and was well built. There was an attempt to push him into a gorge first. When Raja fought back, one of the accused struck him from behind with a sharp weapon, resulting in his death.

After the murder, Sonam and the assassins fled to Guwahati and stayed together for a day before dispersing to different locations. Eventually, Sonam went missing, only to reappear in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, where she surrendered at a roadside eatery.
