The video was posted on social media X with captioned, "Watch this, you will yourself know why Prashant Kishor ji had raised questions on Nitish Kumar's mental condition. And had demanded better treatment for the Chief Minister as soon as possible. The video is of today, when the Chief Minister went to pay tribute to Bapu on his death anniversary, then suddenly he started clapping."
Opposition Says 'It Was Not Surprising'
On this occasion, the armed police paid tribute with a salute, and a two-minute silence was observed. The Chief Minister also offered a silent tribute in memory of the martyrs of the freedom struggle.
After the video surfaced, the opposition seized the opportunity to criticise him. RJD leader and former MLC Sunil Singh strongly lashed out at the Chief Minister over the incident.
He called it highly unfortunate and added that it was not surprising. "This is nothing new for the Chief Minister; he has done such things before. When an unwell office assistant cannot be retained, having an unwell Chief Minister in office is even more unfortunate," he remarked.
Notably, Nitish Kumar has been touring various districts of Bihar as part of his "Pragati Yatra." After attending the death anniversary event at Gandhi Ghat, he left for Madhepura, where his tour is scheduled for today.
