BPSC Exam Row: Nitish Kumar Wants Only Power, Says Prashant Kishor; Demands CM Hold Talk With Candidates
In the wake of the BPSC exam cancellation controversy, Prashant Kishor advocates for dialogue between the government and protesting candidates. Kishore supports cancelling the December 13 exam.
Continuing his hunger strike in Patna's Gandhi Maidan over cancellation of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor said that the solution over the ongoing row of alleged paper leak in the BPSC exam is that the Nitish Kumar-led government of the state should talk to the aggrieved candidates.

While addressing the media over the allegations of politicising the issue, Kishor said, "This protest will continue. I have been working in Bihar for the last two and a half years, if I don't do politics, what will I do? If you beat someone, and I am sitting here in support of them - and then you call it politics, then I am doing the politics. Nitish Kumar doesn't want to work, he wants to be in power only and that's the reason he didn't help the people of Bihar during Covid times. He is not worried about other things but just about being in power."

Kishor, who joined the protesters in recent days, said, "The remedy is that the government must talk to the children. When children even stated that if the Chief Minister meets them and assures that there won’t be re-exams, they would unconditionally call off their protests. When they met the Chief Secretary, he also seemed to suggest that they try to meet the Chief Minister. However, the state's leader, with a population of 13 crore, has so much ego and arrogance that he refuses to meet his own state's children. So, in a democracy, what options are left for these children?..."

Earlier, Kishor said that his primary demand is cancellation of the exam held on December 13 and conducting a fresh test. He added that he had also heard allegations that posts to be filled by the exam were virtually put on sale, and said that those corrupt officials must be identified and brought to justice.
However, the government has also been maintaining that any decision in the matter would have to be taken by the BPSC, an autonomous body.
In support of BPSC candidates, a large number of Pappu Yadav's supporters have also reached at the railway station and tried to stop the trains.
