Uttarakhand: Portals of Sacred Badrinath Temple To Open On May 4

Badrinath Temple, a revered Char Dham shrine in Uttarakhand, will open its doors on May 4, 2025.

Badrinath Temple, located in Uttarakhand, is among the four shrines of Char Dham and attracts a large number of devotess every year. It is among the most visited temples, which remains open from May to November for the pilgrims.

On the day of Basant Panchmi, every year, the opening date of the temple is announced. As per the details, the portals of Badrinath Temple will open on May 4, 2025, at Mesh Lagna from 4 AM to 6 AM.

Thatrajguru of Tehri, Acharya Krishnanand Nautiyal said, quoted by news agency ANI, "...The portals of Badrinath Temple will open on 4th May 2025 at Mesh Lagna - from 4 am to 6 am..."

Erstwhile Maharaja of Tehri Garhwal, Manujendra Shah wished the people on the ocassion of Basant Panchmi and said the same. He also prayed for the safe pilgrimage of the devotees.

He said, "On the occasion of Basant Panchami, I would like to tell the people of the country that the portals of Badrinath Temple will open at 6 am on 4th May. I pray that the pilgrimage of the devotees be safe..."

The date was announced after offering of prayers and all rituals at Narendra Nagar Raj Mahal in Tehri district.

Last year, the doors of the sacred temple was closed on November 17, 2024.
