Robbers Arrive In 'Govt Of India' Labelled Car, Loot Rs 29 Lakh In UP's Shamli
Police have launched an investigation, forming teams to apprehend the culprits and reviewing CCTV footage.

UP News: Panic erupted in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday night when miscreants in a vehicle marked "Government of India" robbed a company's car of Rs 29 lakh. The incident caused a stir in the police department. The accused carried out the crime so quickly that the company employees couldn't understand what was happening.
Upon receiving the information, the police launched a checking operation on the highway to catch the miscreants. The incident took place at Shamli bypass in Sadar Kotwali area. It is reported that Anil, the cashier of thread merchant Lalit, a resident of Panipat, was returning to Panipat from Meerut with his driver Satnam, carrying Rs 29 lakh.
During this time, when their car reached the Shamli bypass, a Bolero car overtook and stopped them. The Bolero had a board that read "Government of India," which made the cashier nervous, as he thought it was a government vehicle. Before he could understand anything, five miscreants from the car immediately entered the cashier's car, snatched the bag full of cash, and fled.
Officials Reach Spot
Immediately after the robbery, the incident was reported a Dial 112 emergency service, alerting the district police. Deputy Inspector General Abhishek Singh, Superintendent of Police Ramsevak Gautam, Assistant Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar, Circle Officer City Amardeep Maurya, and CO Thanabhawan reached the spot with a large police force. The police questioned the cashier and the driver and inspected the crime scene. They started investigating to examine the CCTV footage and identify the suspicious vehicle.
Police Teams Formed
ASP Santosh Singh said that a case has been registered and teams have been formed to arrest the miscreants. He claimed that the robbers would be arrested soon. However, the robbery on the highway in a vehicle marked "Government of India" has raised many questions.
