Punjab Reports First Covid-19 Death In 2025, Nationwide Tally Reaches 12

Punjab reported its first Covid-19 death today after a man died at Chandigarh’s Sector 32 government hospital. He had been referred from Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man tested positive for Covid-19 in Punjab's Ferozepur on Wednesday. All those who came in contact with him are being traced as a precautionary measure, officials said, as reported by news agency PTI.
The man works in a private firm in Gurugram, and arrived in Ferozepur a few days ago to stay with his parents as he was not feeling well. He later tested positive for coronavirus. He was immediately isolated at home by the health department.
Ferozepur civil surgeon Dr Rajwinder Kaur assured there was nothing to panic about and that all precautionary measures were being taken.
A few days ago, a 51-year-old woman from Yamunanagar in Haryana tested positive for Covid-19 at a private hospital in Mohali.

78-Year-Old Covid-19 Patient Dies In Agra
A 78-year-old man from Agra died during treatment at a medical college in Agra on Tuesday evening. He was suspected to be infected with Covid-19.
Following his death, a local health team visited the residence of the deceased late in the evening and tested his family members as well.
The elderly man was admitted to a private hospital in Agra on May 24 after suffering a hip fracture and head injury, Firozabad Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rambadan Ram said, as reported by PTI.
One day later he began experiencing difficulties in breathing and later tested positive for Covid-19 at a private lab. Thereafter, the man was shifted to the Covid isolation ward at SN Medical College in Agra late on Monday night, where he died, the CMO said.
Agra Medical College officials said that the patient was also suffering from multiple serious health conditions.
