Chirag Paswan's Rebel Uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras Evicted From Govt Bungalow
The court and the Building Construction Department had given him time till November 13 to vacate the office, but it was vacated before that. Paras has shifted to his MLA Colony House.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan's rebel uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras had to vacate the office of Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party in Patna on Monday. Pictures from the spot showed all the goods being taken out of the bungalow on 1 Wheeler Road. The Building Construction Department of the Bihar government had given him a notice to vacate the office.
The court and the Building Construction Department had given him time till November 13 to vacate the office, but it was vacated before that and Paras shifted to his MLA Colony House. Pashupati Paras got the bungalow four decades ago during his tenure as an MLA. But later, after he lost an election, the house was allotted in the name of the Lok Janshakti Party led by the late Ram Vilas Paswan.
The LJP split into two after differences between Chirag Paswan and Pashupati Kumar Paras after the death of Ram Vilas Paswan in October 2020.
Paras, a former union minister, made every possible effort to save the bungalow. He even filed a writ petition in the Patna High Court, but it was of no help. However, the court noted that the party could apply to the department for a new bungalow allocation if needed. Some reports said that Paras even went to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to stop the eviction.
Chirag Paswan Was Evicted From Delhi Bungalow
Two years ago, Chirag Paswan was evicted from the government bungalow allotted to his father late Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on 12 Janpath, neighbouring Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's house. Chirag Paswan had said he was feeling cheated and humiliated on vacating the house.
Chirag Paswan's father Ram Vilas Paswan served in the Narendra Modi government from 2014 until his death and the bungalow was used for holding the party's organisational meetings and other related events.
Visuals from the eviction day showed the family's belongings photos of Ram Vilas Paswan, statues and photos of BR Ambedkar and other things kept on the road outside the bungalow.
