The director of a school in Uttar Pradesh's Noida has been arrested for placing a spy camera in the bulb socket of the teachers' washroom. During interrogation he admitted to have bought the camera online for Rs 22,000. 

The spy camera was specifically designed to be placed inside a bulb holder, which made it undetectable. It reportedly enabled him to watch live footage of those who entered the washroom through his mobile phone and computer. According to media reports, the director, Navnish Sahay, live streamed the footage from the teachers' washroom directly to his personal devices.

The incident took place at a play school named Learn with Fun in Noida's Sector 70. The camera was disclosed when one of the teachers noticed the camera and alerted the police, NDTV reported.

She had noticed something unusual inside the bulb's holder when she saw a faint light coming from within it. Upon taking a closer look, she found out a hidden camera in the hilder and immediately informed the security guard of the school, who confirmed the camera's presence.

Thereafter, the teacher informed about it to school director Sahay and coordinator Parul, who denied the charges. The teacher also alleged that both of them did not take any action regarding the issue.

Acting on a compaint filed by the teacher, Noida Central Deputy Commissioner of Police Shakti Mohan Awasthi launched a probe and lodged a case. During the investigation, it was confirmed that there was a spy camera in the washroom, which was not just operational but also capable of live-streaming footage without recording it, NDTV reported.

Subsequently, the school director was arrested. 

The teacher also alleged that this wasn't the first time that she had discovered a spy camera in the school's toilet. She said he had found another camera earlier, which she handed over to the school coordinator, who did not take any action at that time.

The report also stated that the school's security guard claimed that the camera was installed by the director himself. An investigation to ascertain whether the security guard had a role in the device's installation is being carried out. The school operations have also been suspended as the probe is underway.
