Noida: Protesting Farmers Climb Over Barricades At Dalit Prerna Sthal — Watch
Noida farmers climbed barricades in an attempt to march towards Delhi demanding land allocation, increased compensation, and other benefits.
The protesting farmers breached barricading at Noida's Dalit Sthal on Monday as they sought to move forward to Delhi to put forth their demands. The farmers gathered at Noida's Mahamaya flyover from where they began their march but were soon met with layers of barricading put up by the police.
The protestors climbed over the barricade and containers to move forward as they raised flags and slogans.
The protest resulted in inconvenience to the commuters who remained stuck in long traffic snarls at various entry points into Delhi including the DND flyway, Delhi Gate and Kalindi Kunj.
The farmers who are protesting under the Bhartiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) have five demands including the allocation of 10 per cent plots and 64.7 per cent increased compensation under the old acquisition law, four times the market rate compensation.

The farmers are also demanding 20 per cent of plots on the land acquired after January 1, 2014.
Further, the farmers are also demanding the benefit of employment and rehabilitation for the children of landless farmers. Other demands are for government orders on the issues passed by the High Power Committee and proper settlement of the populated areas should be done.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Bhagirath Choudhary alleged that some people are misleading the farmers for political purposes.
"Government always asks about the interests of the farmers and brings schemes related to them, but it is possible that some people are misleading the farmers for political purposes," he said.
The minister said the government is ready to talk to the agitating farmer provided they are not coming forward with any political motive.
Meanwhile, other farmer outfits including Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM, non-political) have also called for foot marches towards Delhi from December 6.
These farmers have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana since February 13, after security forces stopped their march to Delhi.
The farmers had attempted to march towards Delhi on February 13 and February 21 but were stopped by security forces deployed at the border points in the national capital.
