A gang of thieves targeted more than a dozen houses in Noida, stole valuable items, and cooked pakodas in the kitchen.

Noida News: A gang of thieves targeted more than a dozen houses in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida. The thieves steal valuables worth lakhs from the targeted houses and cook pakodas to eat.

The incidents have created a sense of fear and panic among the city residents. The pattern of their activities caught the attention and raised several eyebrows. According to an India Today report, the thieves searched for food in the fridge while stealing valuable items from houses.

They cooked pakoras and ate them in the kitchens of the houses. The gang spent several hours and sometimes spat after eating paan. The Noida Police has said that six to seven cases of theft were reported from Janta Flat in Noida’s Sector 87 alone, the India Today report stated.

Police have increased their search efforts to catch the thieves. The victims of the gang have revealed that they lost cash, jewellery, and other valuable items worth lakhs of rupees.

Modus Operandi Of 'Pakoda Gang'

One of the victims, Shriram Tripathi, who lives in Sector 82, lost cash, jewellery, and valuable items worth at least Rs 40 lakh, as reported by India Today.

The thieves targeted Tripathi’s house while he was in Madhya Pradesh with his family. They first broke the lock of the house using tools that do not make any sound while operating. During the theft, they made pakoras at Shriram's house and fled with the stolen goods.

Upon return, Shriram found just some tissue papers they used for savouring the pakoras. The gang stole goods from six to seven closed houses in the same sector, and the pattern remained the same during every incident of theft.

They entered another house of Richa Bajpai, who lives in Noida’s Sector 25, and stole her jewellery worth around Rs 3 lakh. According to Richa, the thieves in her house emptied several water bottles from her fridge, as per the India Today report. They smoked bidi, ate paan, and spat in the bathroom before fleeing.

Team Formed To Catch Thieves

Central Noida Additional DCP, Hridesh Katheria, said that a team has been formed and instructions have been issued to the Station Head Officers. He said that the thieves will be arrested soon.
