Mumbai Cab Driver Charred To Death As Car Catches Fire After Colliding With Concrete Mixer: Video
A cab driver was killed when his vehicle caught fire after colliding with a concrete mixer in Mumbai.
A cab driver was killed after his vehicle caught fire following a collision with a concrete mixer in Mumbai on Thursday, said the police. The incident took place in the wee hours near Dahisar Naka in the western suburbs at 2:15 am, said an official.
A passenger was sitting inside the car beside the driver and was heading towards Kandivali said an official. A speeding mixer truck going from Dahisar to Kandivali hit the divider on the road after one of its tyres burst, the official said, according to PTI.
The truck driver lost control of the vehicle and the truck jumped the divider and hit the cab, he said, adding a spark occurred in the cab causing a fire which gutted the vehicle.

While the passenger got down and managed to escape to safety, the driver Masood Alam Shaikh got stuck between the steering wheel and his seat and was not able to crawl out, the official said.
The incident was reported at Kasturba Marg police station from where personnel reached the spot. They pulled out the driver from the cab and rushed him to hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, according to the official, reported PTI.

Shaikh died in the car due to serious burn injuries, the official said. The driver was a resident of the Marol area in Mumbai, he added.
The truck driver was arrested and a case was registered against him, the police said, according to the report.
