Man ‘Rapes’ Minor Girl Inside Washroom Of Moving Train, Case Lodged In Secunderabad

A minor girl was allegedly raped by a co-passenger in the washroom of a moving train. The accused allegedly followed the victim when she went to the washroom and assaulted her.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Friday informed that a minor girl was allegedly raped by a co-passenger in the washroom of a moving train. The incident took place on April 3 morning, when the accused, reported to be a man in his 20s, committed aggravated sexual assault against a girl and raped her inside the train’s washroom. The minor was travelling with her family members at the time.

The accused allegedly followed the victim when she went to the washroom and assaulted her, as per police, news agency PTI reported. A case was registered at the Railway Police Station (RPS) in Secunderabad based on a complaint, and a probe is underway, the GRP stated.

Asked about the accused's arrest, a senior GRP official told PTI that the man was being questioned.

10-Year-Old Girl Raped, Stoned To Death In Jharkhand's Palamu

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped and stoned to death by a man in Jharkhand's Palamu district. The accused was identified as Tinku Sharma (35).

He allegedly lured the victim to play a ludo game at his residence as she was playing outside her home on Wednesday, police said, as per PTI. The girl's family lodged a complaint at a town police outpost when she did not return home by 2 pm on Wednesday.

Devvrat Poddar, the town police station in-charge, informed that the man was seen with the girl when the police scanned CCTV footage.

"As police reached the accused's location, they found local people beating him. We immediately arrested the accused. The body of the victim was also recovered and sent for autopsy. Prima facie, it appears that the girl was stoned to death after being raped. However, we will reach a final conclusion after the post-mortem examination report," he said, as per PTI.

Earlier, on March 22, a 23-year-old woman jumped out of a moving train to save herself from a man who allegedly tried to rape her.

She was travelling solo in the ladies’ coach of an MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) train from the Secunderabad railway station to Medchal when the incident occurred. She sustained injuries as she jumped out of the train.
