The accused deceived women by hiding his marital and parental status. He lured them into dating them and would then get into physical relationships with false promise of marriage.

A 24-year-old woman from Maharashtra's Pune, troubled by her husband's unusual sexual demands and blackmailing of other women, played a key role in helping a teen survivor to file a rape complaint against him, eventually leading to his arrest.
The woman hacked her husband's WhatsApp to gather evidence about his sexual escapades and encouraged victims to seek justice.
The accused, Abdul Sharique Quereshi, alias Sahil, 33, deceived women by hiding his marital and parental status. He lured them into dating them and would then get into physical relationships with false promise of marriage. He also secretly recorded their intimate videos and later used them to blackmail them, a report by the Times Of India said.
The couple got married in 2021 and has a three-year-old daughter. Quereshi, who owns a paan kiosk at Teka Naka, had multiple illicit relationships with women of various backgrounds and ages.
His wife had also been suffering due to his relentless demands for porn-like activities and was determined to put him behind bars, for which she had even lodged a police complaint once at Pachpaoli police station, leading to a case of cruelty against him. However, due to Supreme Court guidelines, he was not immediately arrested, TOI reported.
Due to legal hurdles, the troubled wife decided to expose him by hacking his WhatsApp account, gaining access to data which revealed he was not only having multiple affairs, but also blackmailing them.

Accused Sexually Exploited Teen On Pretext Of Marriage
The chats, videos, and images on his phone led the woman to a discover that one of the survivors was a 19-year-old girl whom Quereshi had befriended, claiming to be 'Sahil Sharma'. He had met her at a 'mahaprasad' programme last year.
The girl is a resident of Bhandara and was in Pune for her education. Quereshi approached her claiming to be bachelor and even lured her into different hotels at Pachpaoli and Kamptee, where he repeatedly exploited her under false marriage promises. He even coerced her into selling a gold ring gifted by her mother for ₹30,000, keeping the money and threatening to leak her nude photos online, the report said.
While Quereshi had multiple victims, the teen survivor was the only one willing to file a complaint. With support from his wife, she approached Pachpaoli police station, leading to a rape case being registered and Quereshi’s subsequent arrest.
"On the basis of the complaint, an offence of rape was registered against Quereshi and he was arrested. The court has given us one-day custody remand, which will be subsequently extended," TOI reported citing senior inspector Baburao Raut of Pachpaoli police station.
Raut said evidence is being collected in the case and will be investigated under the supervision of zonal DCP Mahak Swami and additional CP Pramod Shewale.
