Maharashtra: Palghar Family Lands In Hospital After Explosion While Changing Expiry Dates On Perfume Bottles
Four of a family, including minors, were injured in a perfume bottle explosion in Maharashtra. A preliminary probe suggests they were attempting to change expiry dates using flammable substances.
Four members of a family, including two minors, were injured in a blast at a flat in Maharashtra's Palghar district on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The explosion occurred when the victims were trying to change the expiry date on perfume bottles.
The incident occurred in Flat 112 of Roshni Apartments in Nala Sopara near Mumbai.
The police have identified the victims as Mahavir Wadar (41), Sunita Wadar (38), Kumar Harshvardhan Wadar (9), and Kumari Harshada Wadar (14).
Citing the findings of a preliminary investigation, the police said the blast occurred while they were trying to change the expiry date on perfume bottles. "The activity might have involved the use of flammable substances," a police officer said.
One of the injured is being treated at Life Care Hospital in Nala Sopara, while the others are being treated at Oscar Hospital in the same area.
Palghar Man Booked For Wife's Suicide
The Maharashtra Police has started legal action against a 42-year-old man from Palghar for allegedly abeting his wife's suicide. According to police reports released on Friday, the man, who is employed on a cargo ship, did not reside with his wife when he was not on the job. The woman, a 39-year-old doctor, lived at the couple's home in Vasai, located on the outskirts of Mumbai.
The situation escalated when the wife confronted her husband after discovering an extramarital affair, reported news agency PTI. Following this, the woman's family claimed, she was constantly harassed by him. Unable to bear the harassment, she took her own life by hanging herself at their residence on January 6, their family claimed.
The woman's family has submitted to the police certain documents to support their allegation that the man's conduct led her to commit suicide.
