Girl Falls From 30-Ft-Height As Zipline Breaks In Manali: Video

The girl from Nagpur was vacationing with her family when the mishap occurred. She has been hospitalised since the accident.

A 12-year-old girl from Maharashtra suffered serious injuries after falling nearly 30 feet into a gorge during a zipline ride in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, shows the girl plunging onto boulders below after the zipline rope attached to her harness suddenly snapped.

The girl from Nagpur was vacationing with her family when the mishap occurred. She has been hospitalised since the accident and is currently undergoing treatment. According to a person close to the family, she suffered multiple fractures and underwent surgery a few days ago. Her father confirmed that her condition is now stable.

Zipline Operator Accused Of Negligence

The family has accused the zipline operators of gross negligence, pointing to inadequate safety measures and an alleged lack of immediate assistance following the fall. The incident has sparked concern about safety standards among adventure tourism operators in the region.

Responding to the incident, Manali DSP said that the family and the zipline operators have reached a mutual understanding. However, local authorities, including police and tourism officials, have launched an investigation. They are reviewing the safety protocols followed by adventure sports operators to prevent similar accidents in the future, as reported by The Times of India.

The incident has raised questions about regulatory oversight in adventure tourism hotspots like Manali, especially during the peak summer travel season.
