Will MP Minister Vijay Shah Be Sacked From State Cabinet? CM Mohan Yadav Drops Hint

Kunwar Vijay Shah moved the top court to challenge a high court order directing an FIR against him for referring to Colonel Qureshi as a "sister of terrorists".

After the Madhya Pradesh High Court had castigated Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah and ordered the police to file an FIR against him for passing "scurrilous" remarks against Colonel Qureshi, the Supreme Court also slammed Shah on Thursday over his objectionable comments.

Following the episode, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declined to directly comment whether the minister will be sacked or not, while speaking to reporters on Thursday. Responding to Shah’s case, Yadav told news agency IANS, "I want to say that the judiciary has given its orders, and our government has implemented them properly. We will follow the law as the judiciary commands."

Shah moved the top court to challenge a high court order directing an FIR against him for referring to Colonel Qureshi as a "sister of terrorists". During the hearing, Chief Justice BR Gavai, along with Justice Augustine George Masih, said, "What sort of statements are you making? You are a responsible minister of the government."

The court said a person holding a constitutional office should be responsible when this country is going through such a situation. "He has to know what he is saying," the court said. The bench said the plea would be heard on Friday.

Kunwar Vijay Shah's Remark On Colonel Sofia Qureshi

While addressing a gathering near Indore on Tuesday, Shah said, "Those people (terrorists) who had wiped out the sindoor (vermilion) of our sisters (in the Pahalgam terror attack)..We avenged these 'kate-pite' people by sending their sister to destroy them."

"They (terrorists) killed our Hindu brothers by making them remove their clothes. PM Modi ji responded by sending their (terrorists') sister in an Army plane to strike them in their houses. They (terrorists) made our sisters widows, so Modiji sent the sister of their community to strip them and teach them a lesson," he said.

Clarifying the statements, the minister later stated that his remarks came in jest.

"I love India with my full heart. Sofia sister fulfilled national duty...she did not see her community and took revenge for the Phalagam terror attack. Sofia sister is above my real sisters," Shah told ABP News.
