Two Jawans Among 4 Killed, Others Injured After Terrorists Attack Army Vehicle In Kashmir's Gulmarg

The vehicle that was attacked belonged to the 18 Rashtriya Rifles. The attack took place near the Nagin Post area of Botapathar in Gulmarg, which is located close to the Line of Control (LoC).

Four people, including two army jawans, were killed and many others were injured after an Army vehicle was attacked by terrorists near Botpathri in Gulmarg district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday evening.

Officials said that the terrorists opened fire on an army vehicle at Botapathri near Nagin post in Gulmarg, which is located close to the Line of Control (LoC). The vehicle reportedly belonged to the 18 Rashtriya Rifles (RR).

The three deceased civilians, who worked as porters, have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Chaudhary form Nowshara and Manzoor Ahmed Mir from Barnate Boniyar. Meanwhile, Bashraat Ali, a resident of Uri, has been severely injured.

Sources said that this might have been an infiltration attempt by the terrorists to enter the Indian territory. The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army in a post on X said, "A brief firefight took place between #IndianArmy and terrorists in general area Butapathri, #Baramulla."

Reacting to the terrorist attack, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina said, "Coward Pakistani terrorists attacked the vehicle of an Indian army...The police and army have launched the search operation...The terrorists will have to pay a heavy price for it. Efforts are being made from Pakistan to disturb the peace and harmony of J&K...The Indian army will give a befitting reply to these terrorists."

The latest attack comes just hours after the terrorists shot a laborer in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. The injured laborer has been identified as Pritam, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier this week, terrorists attacked a housing camp of workers involved in tunnel construction in Ganderbal. That attack resulted in the death of six laborers and a doctor.
