Chasing Cricket Ball, Hyderabad Boy Stumbles Upon Skeleton In Abandoned House

In Hyderabad, a boy while searching for a cricket ball found a human skeleton in an abandoned house.

A casual game of cricket in Hyderabad turned into a macabre discovery on Monday when a young boy, searching for a lost ball, entered a locked and crumbling house—only to find a human skeleton lying face down on the kitchen floor.

Startled by the sight, the boy rushed out and informed nearby residents, who quickly alerted the police. The home, reportedly uninhabited for years, was in a state of deep decay, with broken furniture, cobwebbed corners, and scattered utensils eerily frozen in time.

'Single Man Was Living Alone Since 2015'

Authorities believe the skeletal remains belong to a middle-aged man who had been living alone in the house since 2015. According to initial reports, the man was unmarried, had few visitors, and had gradually drifted out of contact with relatives and neighbors. No missing person's complaint had ever been filed.

The police crime team, including forensic specialists from the CLUES unit, arrived at the scene to examine the remains and collect evidence, as per a report on NDTV. The skeleton was later transported to the mortuary for autopsy and DNA testing to confirm identity and determine cause of death.

Neighbours were left shaken by the discovery, especially after a video of the skeletal remains inside the abandoned kitchen went viral on social media, reported News18. The footage, widely shared, reignited conversations about urban isolation and how lives can slip through the cracks in growing cities.

Family members, when contacted by authorities, said they believed the man had moved away years ago. An official inquest report is expected by Tuesday.

Earlier, a Russian family of a mother along with two daughters were rescued from a cave in Gokarna. The woman reportedly continued to live with her children in the forest even after her Visa expired.
